A liq. gassing device, esp. for oxygen injection in clarification plants, has one or more hollow gassing elements (12,12') with a gas permeable wall (16,16'), gas being fed from a supply line (42) via a lower inlet end (31) into the interior (18,18') of the gassing element(s) (12,12') and then through the wall (16,16') into the liq. (62) as gas bubbles (64). Gas distributors (56,56') are provided in the upward main gas flow direction between the lower inlet end (31) and the upper outlet region (74) of the gassing element(s) (12,12'). ADVANTAGE - Gas discharge occurs over the entire periphery of the gassing element(s).
