The rope material, especially of fibres, with a low stretch action such as for boat halyards and the like, has a core at least of low stretch fibres and a mantle of a mixture of low stretch fibres and also normal stretch fibres. The low stretch fibres of the core are of the same material as the low stretch fibres in the mantle. The core is composed exclusively of low stretch fibres. The mantle is formed by braiding pref. several yarns or twists with a number of twisted or untwisted fibres with a mixture of low stretch and normal stretch fibre types. The yarns of all the braided sections have generally the same mixture of low stretch and normal stretch fibres, or different yarns can be used in the braided sections with yarns wholly of low stretch fibres and yarns wholly of normal stretch fibres. The mantle can also be developed with different braiding sections, where each is wholly of yarns with low stretch fibres or yarns wholly of normal stretch fibres. ADVANTAGE - The rope structure prevents slippage between the mantle and core of the rope, especially when it is clamped. (0/3)
