A device for volume compensation in a water heater takes the form of an overflow warm water storage tank which is supplied with cold water through a two way valve (4), and which supplies warm water to the tap mixer. The mixer is supplied with cold water from the mains. The increased volume of the water due to heating is drained off through the wash basin waste pipe. The two way valve (4) is housed in a casing (5) and has a stopper between two coaxial circular seatings (41,42), the cold feed (46) entering the first seating (41) and the discharge (47) is at the side above the second seating through an opening (43). The stopper is forced by a spring (44) against the first seating (41), and the second seating opening is into the chamber (45). USE/ADVANTAGE - The valve prevents warm water loss and dripping.
