The thermally insulated pipeline has inner and outer plastics pipes joined by longitudinal ribs. The pipes and ribs are made from lost cost unsorted plastics waste recycled. The plastics can be foamed for additional thermal insulation. The inner pipe has a plastics liner of high quality plastics. The space between the pipes can be evacuated. - The pipe sections are joined by flexible inner and outer sections, with a bellows structure for thermal movements. Electric connections may be embedded in the plastics e.g. for sensor connections and vacuum pump connections.
