An antibody fraction (A) obtd. from the body fluids of HIV infected patients in the latent phase of infection, is new. (A) pref. contains IgG2a type antibodies and is isolated from blood, cerebrospinal fluid, semen, sputum or tissue fluids of patients. USE/ADVANTAGE - (A) is used for treatment of AIDS or for preventing progression of infection. Partic. it is admin. during the latent phase and will then maintain the patient in that phase. (A) can be returned to the subject from whom it was derived, i.e., an autoimmune passive transfer which reduces the risk of inducing allergic reactions.
