Knotting a new warp to an old warp and involves winding a preset length of the warp ends drawn off the sectional warping beam on to a pre-winding beam. At the end of this preset length, the warp ends are fastened on an empty warp beam. Warp ends are then wound on the warp beam while being drawn off the sectional warping beam and the pre-winding beam. Subsequently, warp ends are drawn off from the sectional warping beam alone and wound on the warp beam. During the weaving off of the warp of this warp beam, the emerging end of this old warp is seized and transported to a knotting frame where it is joined to the start of the new warp by knotting.
