In a procedure for purificn. of liquids, microscopic particles of different materials are conglomerated and/or agglomerated by a force field produced in the liquid so that the resulting particles are of greater than a required size, the single-cell and/or multi-cell organisms in the liquid are killed. The force field agglomerates particles of different substances of the same type. These particles may be crystals, dust particles, metals and/or microorganisms. The force is produced by an electric field of 1,000 to 20,000 volts DC through which the liquid flows. After this treatment, the liquid is passed through a filter. USE/ADVANTAGE - Used for purifying and sterilising liquids, esp. water. A simple and low-cost appts. and procedure are used to effectively purify the liquid by mechanical means. The use of chemicals or other additives is avoided.
