Contactless location and identification of electrical leads - applying HF current and modulating its carrier frequency in serial, digital code and selectively tuning to EM field
To locate the leads, the radiated e.m. field is received by selectively tuning to the carrier frequency. To identify the leads, the received carrier frequency signal is demodulated and decoded and displayed. The carrier frequency is pref. amplitude modulated by digital coded square wave pulses. The transmitter uses a h.f generator and modulating stage. The receiver has a reception circuit (26) tuned to the carrier frequency. This is followed by a demodulator (34), a decoder (40) and a digital display (44). The receiver can have an optical (36) and/or acoustic (38) field strength display for the received signal. ADVANTAGE - Precise and sensitive.
