Twisted yarn break splicing - applies a twist to the broken end of the doubled yarn before splicing

To repair a yarn break at a twisting machine, where the broken end of the twisted yarn is spliced to the end of the doubled yarn drawn off the bobbin, the end of the doubled yarn is twisted before splicing. The broken end of the doubled yarn is pref. twisted, before splicing, by rotating the two-for-one twisting spindle which carries the bobbin. The doubled yarn is drawn off the bobbin and threaded into the stationary two-for-one twisting spindle to be held by it when fully threaded through. The spindle is rotated for a short period to apply a twist to the end of the doubled yarn and then the twisted end is placed in the splicing appts. ADVANTAGE - The method allows the broken end of a doubled yarn to be spliced to the broken end of the twisted yarn using conventional splicing appts.
