Aerator consists of a long narrow vessel connected to an air source and covered by a sealed aeration plate. The vessel and the aeration plate are rounded at their narrow ends, the seal rests on a shoulder formed near the rim of the vessel, and the springs which hold the seal in place pass under the vessel and do not obstruct its upper surface. The aeration plate may be made of a porous ceramic material, or may consist of a support plate covered by an elastic perforated membrane. The seal is in the form of a round elastic cord, and fits into a recess at the edge of the aeration plate. The aeration plate is enclosed by an angle frame which is gripped by the springs. USE/ADVANTAGE - In the aeration of liqs. The use of a one-part seal allows the aeration plate to be more simply placed in the required position in the vessel.
