A percussion tool such as a road drill would have two handle grips, one on each side of the body. The grip (Ge) is at the end of a link pivoted on the body at (A). Pinned at the rod end (B) to the link and at the cylinder end (D) to the body is a hydraulic cylinder (1). The grip comprises a cylinder (2) with a spring element on one side of a free piston and hydraulic oil on the other. The oil filled chambers of the cylinders are connected by a flexible line (l). By suitable choice of geometric parameters and spring stiffness (C2) a desired constant handling force (He) can be applied although a vibratory force is not transmitted to the grip. The handling force can be varied within limits by assuming different positions along the grip. USE/ADVANTAGE - Percussion tool e.g. road drill. Operator is protected from vibration.
