Water-based wood varnish drier - applies capacitative stray field to horizontal conveyor of low dielectric loss carrying flat wood pieces or wooden surfaces greater than 500 mm in width
A variable-feed low dielectric loss belt supplied via an entry channel brings the material into the totally screened HF space past field capacitor electrodes formed from high potential and mass potential rods at a preset spacing. After drying, the material is led out through a similar outlet channel which, like the entry channel, makes metallic contact with the A1 skin of the HF space. To dry water-based paints on nonmetals above 500 mm wide, applied as thin electrolytically conducting surface sheet, high potential (4) and mass potential (5) rods alternate at right angles to feed in sequence along the same work surface. The rack figures formed by the rods are arranged such that only charge and discharge currents flow in the same direction with the result that an HF stray field without magnetic field forms between the rods, leaving the electrodes in a cold state throughout. USE/ADVANTAGE - Drying e.g. wide painted wood surfaces. Alternating potential and mass electrode rods set up uniform stray field for fast flow with standard result.
