The device is for a T-square, which engages directly on the surface of a drawing board, and is guided on grooves or on rails. The actuator element consists of an angled lever, held pivoted on the T-square. This has an extremely short load arm, and a longer power arm, for clamp action. When pressure is applied to the operating key (7), this slides with its slide edge (25) on the inclined surface (21), and with its guide stud (23) along the guide surface (24), to a first step (26). When this step has been overcome, the key is moved in longitudinal direction of the T-square, and it is locked in the area of the locking stop.
