A hammer drill comprises a housing (2) inside which is an oscillating striker piston (4) with control openings (6). Behind the piston (4) is a cylindrical void (12) in which there is an oscillating and revolving control tube (11), and inside that is a plunger tube (24). A compressed air supply hose (23) is attached to the end of the plunger tube (24) which is connected to a guide sleeve (15) to which it is locked under power, and can be released by drawing back against the power of a spring (25, 26). USE/ADVANTAGE - The spring tension is so designed that the control tube under full pressure overcomes the spring and pushes the sleeve back.
