An elastic shaft coupling esp. for diesel engine drives with a high output e.g. ships engines, includes a ring-shaped coupling unit which is fixed between two ring flanges by vulcanisation. One flange is connected to the drive and the other to the unit to be coupled. The rubber elastic coupling member is divided into separate ring segments by radially running slots. ADVANTAGE - The coupling is simple and reliable, and the coupling characteristics are optimised. (2/2)
