Filler (FC1,FC2) contains a UV-reactive component, pref. 1-10 wt.% of (i) a poly(pref. di)-functional, low mol. wt., oligomeric or polymeric acrylate and/or (ii) a silicone or silicone acrylate. Prodn. of cable is by centro-symmetrically covering the conductor (LW) with the UV-gellable filler and passing the prod. over a UV radiator and into an extruder. ADVANTAGE - Sufficient consistency for free movement of the conductor.
