Process uses live small crustaceans of the genus Daphnia magna Strauss 1820. Their activity within a measurement portion of the waterway generates impulses as they pass photoelectric cells, and serves as measurement of the water quality. The measurement portion is weakly illuminated alternately from top and bottom, so that the organisms move towards each source as it is cut in. Young animals and materials in suspension can be floated off using an overflow. ADVANTAGE - Shorter reaction time.
