A Bowden cable (3) from the accelerator pedal operates a lever (22) coupled to the shaft (2) of the throttle flap (1). A slip-ring pick-up (4) constitutes part of each potentiometer (8) whose reading of the actual engine speed is compared with a desired speed for electronic correction. A deformable boss protrudes into a rectangular opening in the pick-up (4) enabling the potentiometer (8) to be adjusted w.r.t. a setting of the throttle flap (1). Both potentiometers, pick-ups and the lever (22) are shielded (12) from contamination and damage. ADVANTAGE - Overall cost of potentiometer is reduced with its assembly time.
