The grinding machine, which is intended for the sharpening of circular saw blades with Stellite or cemented carbide tooth inserts, works with two grinding wheels mounted one above the other on parallel spindles. The grinding head carrying the two spindles is adjustable by motor drives normal to the axes (AB) of the grinding spindles and in several positions (Z1-Z5) normal to the plane of the saw blade (5). It has two independently motor driven axes of motion (XY) in the horizontal plane of the saw blade. In the resharpening mode of operation of the machine, wheel (22) is a cup wheel for grinding the tooth face and wheel (23) is a peripheral contact wheel for grinding the tooth back clearance. Used in the production mode the machine is equipped with two peripheral contact wheels. USE/ADVANTAGE - Machine can be used both for resharpening and for the production grinding of various tooth forms. Short cycle time. Large diameter wheels giving longer life can be used.
