The arrangement for identifying objects contains an interrogation device and a data carrier associated with each object. The interrogation device contains a pulse modulated high frequency or h.f. transmitter and a receiver connected to an evaluation device. A data carrier power supply circuit (12) is connected to the receiver antenna (10) and to an energy reservoir (13). A synchronous pulse filter (14) connected to the antenna generates synchronising and reset pulses for an address generator (15) for a memory (16) contg. identification data. The synchronising pulse controls data output via a gate (18) to a light pulse transmitter (20) associated with the photosensor (8) receiver. USE/ADVANTAGE - Also for electronic shutter, person identification and control, etc. Low vol. requirements for data carriers associated with objects to be identified, and transfers large data quantities with high noise immunity over variable distances.
