The level sensor has a measurement housing which is screwed into the wall of a container with a cylindrical measurement rod protruding into the measurement medium. The measurement rod (2) forms a membrane and is open only to the interior of the measurement housing. Electrical functional elements (5,6) inside the rod are electrically insulated from but thermally connected to the inner rod wall. These elements can be at least two temp. measurement elements with direct heating of one. They are mounted on a thermally conducting rod inserted in the measurement rod. USE/ADVANTAGE -Esp. for detecting liquid levels in containers. Rapid reaction is achieved independently of ambient temp. and without false response on transition between two media phases.
