The solar energy collector consists of an inner hemisphere (14) which is enclosed in an outer hollow hemisphere (12). The inner hemisphere (12) is fitted with a support (30) which supports a coil of finned pipe (20) through which a heat absorbing liq. is circulated. The outer hemisphere (12) has a textured inner surface and is produced by the deep drawing of a sheet of material which has a structured surface on one side. The inner hemisphere has a reflecting outer surface. Instead of a finned pipe a flexible hose may be used for circulating the heat absorbing liq. USE - Utilisation of solar energy.
