An address conversion arrangement contains an offset hold device, an activation device and a physical address signal generator. The activation device responds to defined higher value bits of a virtual address signal and in the hold device to enable access to a memory cell field. The physical address generator responds to defined lower value bits in the virtual address signal and in the hold device to generate a physical address signal. USE/ADVANTAGE - For converting an externally applied virtual address signal into a physical address signal for addressing a memory cell field indpendently of CPU management operations.
