Wheel-speed sensors (5) are used on the driven and undriven wheels. The signals from all the sensors and integrated and compared with reference values. The wheel-speed signals are used to generate an accurate speed for the vehicle. The exclusion mode, during wheel-spin, covers abnormalities in the drive unit as well as cases where both throttle and brake pedals are pressed - panic braking with automatic transmission.
