The loading machine, for calibration of a force sensor (12), has a machine frame enclosing a load transfer frame (13) with an attached tension rod (15) to which successive weights (20, 22) are coupled. An auxiliary loading device (28) acts on the load transfer frame to provide intermediate loading steps between those provided via the weights and using a number of interchangeable individual weights (30) applied to or removed from the load transfer frame via a lifting table (36). The individual weights may be used singly or in groups. USE - Automatic calibrating machine.
