When reforming multi-row wide container flows into a single-row container flow (2) inside a transport device the wide container flow coming from the supply transporter first becomes quicker over an acceleration section (3) by means of a drive-side translation of the conveyor rollers towards the conveyor direction and thus each following roller in the conveyor direction rotates 3 to 6% faster than the previous roller whereby beneath one container there are at least three conveyor rollers turning at different speeds resulting in a uniform acceleration on the incoming containers whilst the distance between the incoming containers has increased until the container has reformed in a single-row stream owing to the forces acting on the container flow across the conveyor direction. The containers are interpositioned through a single-sided guide railing and an additional inclined position of less than 8 deg. of the device in the direction of the railing. A following deceleration in the conveyor roller speed acting in an inverse ratio can cause the single row of containers to close up tight towards the discharge point. USE/ADVANTAGE - The changes in speed take place only in the conveyor direction.
