An image forming arrangement contains a device which divides input image data into blocks, each of which contains a defined number of pixels at positions at which pixels are to be formed. A shade modulation processing arrangement determines priorities corresp. to pixel positions and varies the sizes of image points according to pixel position densities. - The sizes of the image points are increased so that the area of a point whose position is of higher priority is greater than that whose position is of lower priority.
