The single crystalline ferrite is represented by the composition ranges: 50-57 mole. % Fe203, 18-45 mole. % MnO, 5-25 mole. % ZnO and 0.01-5 mol.e % of the oxide of a Lanthanide element. Also claimed is a video-tape recorder magnetic head made using a ferrite with the above compsn. USE/ADVANTAGE - The material shows improved permeability at high frequency and saturation magnetism, making it more suitable for use in S-VHS and ED-beta recording machines.
