The sliding door has a leaf suspended via a guide bar from a top profiled guide member (4), along which it can be moved. At the bottom it travels in a profiled threshold (5) or frame member. A guide (24) for the leaf bottom is integral with the threshold or fixed immovably to it. At the bottom of the leaf is a guide rib (22) with a portion (23) engaging with the threshold guide.
