The heat shielding plate contains an arrangement of a section (7a, 14a) of high electrical resistance and another section (7b, 14b) with high thermal conductivity, which are arranged both alternating int he circumferential direction of the superconducting coil (1). The heat shielding plate (7, 14) contains an arrangement of a non magnetic material and aluminium or copper, which are alternatiely arranged in the circumferential direction of the superconducting coil. The non magnetic material is a non rust steel, austenitic super alloy or Zirconium. USE/ADVANTAGE - Reduces eddy currents without interfering with heat shielding effect, if magnetic alternating field exists or appts. is exposed to mechanical vibrations, which can effect alternations in mutual inductance. Gives method for prodn. of heat shielding plates for superconducting coil.
