The flaps (22, 22a) or other movable surfaces are pivoted (23, 23a) by respective worm wheels (21) rotated by gears (18), coupled (8, 8a) to transverse half-shafts (6, 6a) which are geared down (2-5) from a DC motor (1) under electronic control (11) from a servo potentiometer (10). The thrust wire (23) connecting each flap (22) to its worm wheel (21) can be hooked into either of two holes (21a or 21b) according to whether equal or opposite pivoting movements are required. ADVANTAGE - Compact worm gears and short power supply wires make for efficient operation by single DC motor and electronic controller, with low losses and min. HF interference.
