A solar cooker has a light permeable cover over an insulated black absorber inner chamber (2) where black saucepans or the like can be placed. A level surface mirror is arranged on the edge of the inner chamber (2) to conduct the rays of the sun into the chamber which is partly overlaid with a sheet metal absorber (9). The mirror surface (1) extends from the chamber (2) upwards, and a second mirror (3) is fixed to the opposite edge (4) extending upwards and outwards from the chamber (2). Further mirrors (5,6) are attached at an angle of between two and five degrees to the upper edge of the first and second mirrors (1,3). USE/ADVANTAGE - The arrangement described increases the efficiency of the solar cooker.
