A contact device for electrical vacuum circuit breakers is fitted with cup-shaped contacts which are arranged coaxially with respect to one another and whose cylindrical wall, which is connected to the cup base and acts as a contact support, is split into webs by slots running obliquely with respect to the axis of rotation of the contact, and the end of the cylindrical wall is covered with a disc-shaped or annular contact element, and the slots are bridged by means of a bracket which is a poor conductor in comparison with the contact support. In order to obtain a bracket which has a small cross-section, satisfies all the requirements and is easy to produce, it is provided for said bracket to be constructed from a cylindrical pin (27) which is inserted in a hole (26) in the cylindrical wall (17, 18), which hole extends approximately parallel to the axis of rotation (23) of the contact (11, 12), the pin (27) - seen in the insertion direction - engaging in a blind hole in the web part of that side of the slot or slots (22) and being fixed in the opposite web part, in which it engages first, mechanically bridging the slot or slots.
