The intermediatee gearing to bring objects close to one another without colliding, especially for picking up and putting down piece-goods being transported, has an approach piece (12) joined to the crank-pin (6) of a crank-shaft (5) mounted in the gear-housing (4). The gear housing (4) runs on a straight guide (3) and is connected to a drive alternately displacing the gear housing (4). A cog-wheel (7) is fixed to the crank-shaft (5) and engages with a toothed rack (2). The axis of the crank-pin (6) intersects the centre line of the cog wheel (7). USE/ADVANTAGE - The intermediate gearing can be used for sensitive goods so that it does not damage their outer surfaces, and prevents knocks.
