The starter rotation element is made in one piece from sheet steel with a hub area and an externally profiled edge area of a larger axial extension than the hub area. The edge area (3), which is formed from the thickness of the sheet metal blank, is split each side of the hub area (2) so as to have side webs (4, 5).Thus the external profiling is formed in one side web (4) and an actuating profile is formed in the other side web (5). The sheet metal thickness of the outer profiled area is pref. greater than that of the actuating profile, pref. with a ratio of 3:1. The actuating profile can be a circumferential, perforated ring or external gearing. USE/ADVANTAGE - For manual and automatic gearboxes,with low-cost mfr.and assembly.
