The invention relates to a method for the selection of a pozzolana such as a metakaolin, intended to be coupled with glass fibre-reinforced cement. According to the invention a pozzolana is selected which has a lime-fixing capacity in the Chapelle test at 90 DEG C which is higher than 700 mg of CaO per gram of pozzolana, a lime-fixing capacity in the Chapelle test at 50 DEG C higher than 200 mg of CaO per gram of pozzolana and a relationship between the quantity of CaO fixed in the Chapelle test at 50 DEG C and the specific surface of the pozzolana which is higher than of the order of 10 mg of CaO per m2 of pozzolana. …??The composite material obtained is employed in building to produce, for example, facade components which must satisfactorily resist aging.
