Treatment process for superconducting cuprates possessing a lamellar structure formed by intergrowth of oxygen-deficient perovskite layers and of NaCl-type layers, of formula: (A'CuO3-y)n'(AO)n with A = Tl, Pb, Bi, Ba, Sr and A' = Ba, Ca, Sr. According to the invention, the process consists of annealing under a reducing atmosphere at an annealing temperature of below 400 DEG C for a period of time sufficient to obtain an increase of at least 5 K in the critical temperature.
