The invention relates to a press for manufacturing iron sponge briquettes, including two rollers located opposite each other. The rollers consist of a base body (1) of the roller and of a covering (4) in which moulding recesses (5) are formed. The covering is produced in the form of a closed ring (4) in steel in molybdenum nickel chromium and is held with adjustment tightened on the base body (1) of the roller. Open grooves are produced on the lateral surface (3) of the base body (1) of the roller or on the inner face of the ring (4) as a cooling channel, their open sides being closed off by the inner face of the ring (4) or the lateral surface (3) of the base body in the assembled condition of the rollers.
