The method consists in cutting out the pliant sheet (3) constituted by a plastic sheet, in heating the edges (3a) intended to be rolled so as to soften them, and in doing so immediately after they have been wrapped around the frame (4). The device comprises a heat source (5) intended to heat the edges of the pliant sheet (3) and means (10 to 14) for wrapping them around the frame (4), these means being located immediately after the heat source (5).
