The method checks the operation of a system comprising an array of at least one filter and an antenna to which the output from the filter array is connected. For an array consisting of a number of filters (F1 to F5) each tuned to a different characteristic frequency, the loss energies are measured using a variable-frequency measuring device (DM) tunable to the different characteristic frequencies; the measuring device (DM) is tuned successively to the different characteristic frequencies, and the loss energy is measured using a directional coupler (CDE1 to CDE5) each time the measuring device is tuned to a characteristic frequency.
