This invention relates to copper vapor lasers. BR/ It relates to a copper vapor laser having a copper charge which is formed of several separate individual charges (4) of copper each placed in a respective ceramic crucible. The crucibles are spaced along the length of the discharge tube. Preferably, a tungsten wire is placed in the crucible (4) and facilitates contact between the copper charge and the wall of the crucible. This wall can also be frosted.
