Solutions for perfusion and storage and/or for reperfusion for heart transplants, characterised by the inclusion of at least one oxygen-free radical-scavenging compound, especially glutathione in the reduced state or N-acetylcysteine, the said solutions having a zero or very reduced partial pressure of oxygen remaining substantially at this value during use. The solution is preferably provided in bags which are impermeable to oxygen.
