Gate for boats, pivoting about a horizontal axis and exhibiting a cylindrical surface, the axis of which is coincident with the axis of pivoting of the said gate (1), this cylindrical surface exhibiting its convexity towards the sea when the gate is closed. Preferably, the gate is balanced by counterweights (6) or counterfloats placed in an enclosure (5), the level of which varies with the tide and/or on command, the movements of this level controlling the opening and closing of the gate.
