P We propose a sonotrode in the form of a bar which is immersed in a liquid medium to be treated and coupled with an acoustic transformer connected to a high frequency generator and which is constituted at least partially by a material containing titanium. The oscillating end is provided with a layer of protection (8) against cavitation constituted by polycrystalline diamond attached to a metal support (7). /P
