Process for the treatment of tunnels, especially road tunnels in a use stage, and product composition for the said treatment

The innovation of the process according to the invention consists of the use of water-soluble epoxide systems combined with specific pigments to obtain a coating on concrete which resists acidic corrosion by concentrated exhaust gases in tunnels, and of the product composition for making use of the treatment process. The composition for the treatment of surfaces such as tunnels is a composite resin, resin of epoxides which can be diluted in water which, after polymerisation, produces a continuous and stable strong film. The said composition consists of two components which are polymerisable at ambient temperature, exhibiting at the same time the strength of an epoxy and the mattness of a gelatinous white: - from 12 to 15 parts of a liquid epoxide resin per 100 parts of finished product, - from 20 to 28 parts of fine siliceous or carbonate fillers, - from 14 to 16 parts of pigments, - from 11 to 14 parts of a hardener consisting of polyamide spindles. The invention applies to the maintenance and/or renovation, especially of tunnels.
