Process for the production of composite materials with a metal matrix by continuous casting and, also, casting in cylindrical and annular moulds. The process employs the properties of rotating permanent magnets arranged in a helix or in steps to create three-dimensional shearing forces, of viscous origin, in a mixture whose temperature is lower than that of the liquidus of the metal matrix. It makes it possible to control the concentration of the particles or of the fibres within the composite material. The invention finds its application in metallurgy, in all cases where it is desired to exploit the properties of high-performance composite materials with a metal matrix. IMAGE
