THERMAL SPRAYING POWDER COMBINED WITH METAL POWDER AND CERAMIC POWDER FOR INTERMEDIATE LAYER BETWEEN METAL AND CERAMIC AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE:To obtain the title powder capable of giving an intermediate layer having excellent adhesive property and stress relaxation to an adhered article of metal and ceramic, by subjecting metal powder and specific ceramics powder to mixing in a powder colliding device, and diffusing and adhering the ceramics material to the surface of the metal powder. CONSTITUTION:A stator 2 and a high-speed rotary disk 3 having plural colliding pins 4 are disposed in a casing 1. The powder of iron metals such as stainless steel and heat resisting steel and nonferrous metals such as Al alloy and copper alloy and the ceramics powder such as Y2O3, partially stabilized ZrO2 or Al2O3 finer than said metal powder are mixed at 1-20mol% ratio and the mixture is charged through a raw material feed port into the device. The rotary disk 3 is rotated at a high speed and the raw materials are repeatedly circulated in a circulation circuit 5, by which the powerful collision is given to the materials. The powder of the above-mentioned ceramics is fixed to the outside circumferences of the metal powder and both the powders are diffused to each other, by which the combined material of the metal and ceramics having the characteristics such as ductility and toughness intrinsic to the metals and having the excellent heat resistance, heat insulating property, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and mechanical characteristics provided by the formation of the intermediate ceramics layer is developed.
