PURPOSE:To obtain an aqueous dispersion-type petroleum asphalt emulsion for prime coating of pavement, by emulsifying an asphalt base containing a mixed oil asphalt and a specific mixed solvent with a cation-impregnation emulsifying liquid containing a specific block polymer. CONSTITUTION:The objective aqueous dispersion-type petroleum asphalt emul sion for pavement, is produced by compounding (A) an asphalt base containing (A1) a mixed oil asphalt produced by mixing a petroleum asphalt for paving with 1-20wt.%, preferably 3-15wt.% of linseed oil and (A2) 10-40wt.%, prefer ably 15-30wt.% (based on the component A1) of a mixed solvent composed of 85-97wt.% of a petroleum solvent (e.g., kerosene) and 3-15wt.% of a vegeta ble oil (e.g. turpentine oil) and (B) a cation-impregnation emulsifying liquid containing 0.1-3wt.%, preferably 0.3-2wt.% of an exyethylene-oxypropylene block polymer e.g. at a volume ratio (A:B) of 50:50 and emulsifying the mixture with a barrel-type homogenizer, etc.
