PRODUCTION OF FLEXIBLE POLYURETHANE FOAM HAVING HIGH AIR PERMEABILITY

PURPOSE: To produce the title foam having an excellent moldability and a high air permeability while reducing the odor due to a catalyst by using a specific imidazole compd. as an amine catalyst in the process for producing the foam from a polyol and a polyisocyanate. ;CONSTITUTION: At least one imidazole compd. selected from the group consisting of compds. of the formula (wherein R₁ is 1-4C cyanoalkyl group; R₂ is H, 1-4C alkyl, aryl, benzyl, or phenyl; and R₃ and R₄ are each H, 1-4C alkyl, or hydroxymethyl) is used as an amine catalyst in the process for producing the title foam by reacting a polyol with a polyisocyanate in the presence of the amine catalyst, a blowing agent, and a foam stabilizer. The blowing agent to be used is one wherein the content of CFC 11 is reduced and that of water is increased.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
