PRE-FABRICATED UNIT FOR HEAT EXCHANGING TOWER SUCH AS COOLING TOWER AND THE LIKE AND HEAT EXCHANGING TOWER EMPLOYING SAID UNIT

PURPOSE: To fabricate the body of a heat exchanging tower having required capacity and configuration easily by a method wherein a frame work is formed by pillar and beam structure three-dimensionally while the pillars and beams are connected through one kind of connector without employing welding. ;CONSTITUTION: A cooling tower is fabricated by connecting a plurality of pre- fabricated units. The frame work of the body of respective pre-fabricated units is formed of pillars 2, made of a H-shape steel, beams 3 (3a...), made of a channel-shape steel, and connectors 4. The connector 4 is formed of a hollow supporting pillar unit 4a, to which the pillar 2 is connected, a pair of connecting pieces 4b, 4b, projected orthogonally to the back surfaces of the supporting pillar 4a, and a leg piece 4c, which are integrated. The main body 1 of the unit is made by a method wherein gussets 6, fixed to the central part of the longer beams 3 through bolts, are connected to the connectors 4 through diagnal members 7 while the connectors 4 on the diagonal line of the surface of the shorter side are connected by screw rods 10 having turnbuckles 11 to reinforce the frame work.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
